Hello all -- Here's the scoop you've been waiting for!

K.J. Adelberger sent me her holiday letter. She is now back at Bowman Gray School of Medicine working in the department of Orthopedic Surgery, where she assists her doctor in surgery and in his clinic, but she also has a clinic of her own where she evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and prescribes medicine for patients as a mid-level practitioner.

Susan Haberman Cooke writes from Newburgh, NY. After graduating from Colgate, she got a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from NYU. In November of 1990, she married Dan Cooke (Colgate '89, Phi Gamma Delta). They bought a house in Newburgh, NY four years ago. Dan is director if housing operations at Mount Saint Mary College. Susan was a full time social worker at a drug treatment program in Westchester, but recently resigned to take care of their daughter, Lauren Farrell Cooke, who was born 5 June 1996. Susan would love to hear from any PiPhi's in her area that would like to get together -- (914) 561-3314.

Betsy MacDonald Cottle celebrated her 5th wedding anniversary and her 9th work anniversary in the past year. She and her husband Barry have a little red headed boy named Thomas who is a very precocious 4 year old. They also have a daughter Shannon who is very fun and active at two. They have a house in the suburbs of Hartford, CT. Betsy has been working part-time since Tommy was born; she still has a great challenging job designing Environmental, Health and Safety software systems.

Elissa Haney writes from Boston where she enjoys her job and loves her new apartment. She says that she has no regrets about leaving New York. She's now close to her family, yet has time for a social life!

Elizabeth Heick wrote me last August from Boston, where she is probably just about finishing her third year of law school at Boston University. On June 1st, she got engaged to Christoph Belanger (Colgate '94). He proposed to her on rollerblades and then they went on a dinner cruise of Boston Harbor to celebrate. They are planning to have their wedding at the Colgate Chapel in August. Last summer she worked at Bingham, Dana and Gould, a law firm in Boston. She really enjoyed it, and they offered her a permanent position when she finishes law school. Elizabeth writes that Susan Johns and her husband, Clark Bundy (Colgate '94), bought a very nice townhouse near Princeton, NJ. Susan is continuing a PhD program in history at Rutgers University. Colleen Donovan is working on her PhD in English at the University of Georgia.

After graduating from Colgate in 1990, Michelle Caron Hickerson moved to Atlanta to attend law school at Emory. Although she didn't like Emory, she loved Atlanta and felt the professors at Emory prepared her well for her future career. Michelle began her practice at a 14-attorney firm where she was the only woman attorney. After a year and a half, she changed jobs and now works at Jones, Day, Reavis and Pogue. Their Atlanta office has about 85 lawyers, but internationally they have about 2000. She practices in the area of commercial real estate and secured lending. She married Weaver Hickerson, a good ol' southern boy on 11 June 1994. They live in a 104-year old home in Conyers, Georgia with Frisko, Lucy, Ed, and Bill. Frisko and Lucy are cats and Ed and Bill are goats.

After graduation, Megan Howlett accepted a job as a marine biologist at New England Aquarium in Boston, where she worked with a variety of animal life -- sharks, penguins, seals, sea lions, reptiles and fish. Her job required her to travel quite a bit -- Hawaii, South Pacific, and the Bahamas. On those trips, they did mostly diving and collecting for their own exhibits as well ad for other institutions in the US. After four years, she decided to change fields and get into financing. She was offered a job as an investment advisor/ account executive at Dean Witter. So far it has been an exciting experience for her. Although she doesn't get to travel to the tropics quite as often, she has been to Europe to attend meetings. She currently spends a lot of time flying between NYC and Boston. Megan has recently gotten engaged and is planning a Spring 1998 wedding!

Sabrina Saterah Isaacs lives in White Plains, NY, with her husband Jeff and her sons Corey, 2 1/2, and Jason, 9 months. She is working as an attorney in Manhattan, representing landlords in litigation. She works for a small firm which has 12 attorneys, and she goes to court almost every day. June Raegner works as a headhunter placing attorneys. Her boyfriend Rich (Colgate '91) threw her a surprise 30th birthday party at a cool restaurant in NYC. Supriya Pingili Masood lives in Pompton Lakes, NJ, with her husband Steve and her son Alec who is about 2 years old. Supriya is in her final year of residency.

Laura Lutz King married Mike King on 12 October 1996 in Phoenix, where they met. For their honeymoon, they drove up the coast of California, doing all sorts of cool things, like visiting wineries and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Laura now works for the Valley of the Sun Publishing company as a staff editor. They publish self-help and metaphysical books, audio tapes and CDs, music and videotapes. Laura really enjoys the switch of atmosphere from a major corporate entity to a small, family-run business. Her husband Mike works for Disney Feature Animation. They have been looking for a house recently and are planning a trip to the East this summer.

Letitia Hurford King and her husband Bill have been working hard at home and at work. They are going for a two week trip to Italy this spring. As for other sisters, Peggy Schmid Odell gave birth to a girl in early May, Kathleen Johnson just got a new job and big upgrade working for Moode's assessing states' credit rating. Carolyn McQuade is now working in Manhattan and back in school for a teaching certificate.

Lindsay Youker Levy is living in Virginia with her husband Jeffrey. She is due to give birth at the end of June to their first child.

Kristen Max got a new job working for Ernst and Young in NJ doing corporate communication ``stuff''. The position involves being a liaison between corporate MIS and the offices across the nation -- translating techie language into ``real'' English and working on iternet/intranet communication.

Beth Mazzei bought a condo in Newton Square, Pennsylvania.

Sharon Klein Pogastin married her high school sweetheart Rich in December 1992. She decided to get her Masters in Early Childhood Education and taught for three years, before having a child of her own. Their son Bradley Scott was born on 1 June 1996. Their apartment got too crowded with Bradley's toys, so they bought a house in Larchmont, NY.

Rochelle Ruffer and her husband Tom have a new arrival, Jonathan David, joining Nathaniel, who turns two in June.

Kathy Sales wrote from Chicago where she started a new job a year ago. It was a hard decision for her to leave ROLM, but she is now the Chicago Branch Sales Manager for a division of Donnelley Enterprise Solutions called LANSystems.

Gretchen Hehn Schneider and her husband Tom moved into their first home in Walpole, MA. Although the move was time consuming, she has still managed to do some traveling to talk about genetic counseling and also run a support group for families with a genetic condition called neurofibromatosis (NF). She has seen Martha Schatkowski, who now lives in Boston, and Aprile Gallant in the past year. Also, Mary Ellen Lane has moved back to the States from Germany and is living in Boston.

Rebecca Clarke Turner, husband Michael and daughter Carley all live in Elmira, NY, where Michael is in law school at Cornell. Carley is now two years old and expecting a younger sibling sometime in November! Michael is studying hard and will be working in Boston this summer for Goodwin Procter, while Carley will keep her mom busy in Elmira.

Betsy Whitehouse went to Kim Van Voorhees's wedding on Long Island in October, which she says was just beautiful. She married Mitch Cooper, and they both live in New York City. Kim works for Ogilvy and Mather. Andi Houlis Clifford and her husband Jim just moved to Wakefield, MA, which is near Betsy, who lives in Watertown, MA. Andi is working as a bi-lingual special education teacher in Salem, MA. Betsy works as a high school English teacher in Burlington, MA. Betsy and Andi see each other a lot -- they have been friends for a long time, Andi's husband is Betsy's second cousin, and Betsy's fiance is Andi's husband's best friend! (As I look at the e-mail Betsy sent me in October, I see that her fiance is probably by now her husband, since they had an April 1997 wedding and honeymoon in Aruba planned!)

The Class of 1987 is looking forward to going to reunion this weekend; among those planning on attending are Linsady Youker Levy, Rochelle Ruffer, Betsy Cottle, Margo Burnham, Julie White, and and Kim Kramer Ganz.

As for me, I am finally done with graduate school! I defended my dissertation in April and am looking forward to starting my new job. I'll be working for Ilog, a French software company whose US office is in California, but I'll continue to live in Maryland for the time being. Rob and I went on a much needed vacation to Cape Cod, and I got to see Melanie Vigil Sinche one afternoon. She loves married life, and it sounds like she's happy with her job.

Linsay Youker Levy, the keeper of the Zetabase, can be reached at lylevy@pen.k12.va.us or at 6809 North 19th Road, Arlington, VA 22205-1809. It would be very helpful if you could update her when you move, etc.
