The Jellydots
19 July 2008
Whittier Park
Atlanta, GA

Yesterday I got mail from Bryan at The Pokey Pup I got email that the show was on! We headed out arond 3pm and got there in plenty of time -- only one detour for a closed road. The park is a really interesting place, the site of an old mill. Unfortunately, is was a bit hot, and the playground equipment was even a little hot to be on at first. But then it was shadier and Chloe got to play in a very fun playground. Amy Davis arrived and then Brayn and Doug came. Rob wanted to know where Doug would plug in his amp, but he had a really cute AA battery powered amp that did the job nicely. As it always happens, the song everyone wanted was the one he hadn't rehearsed, but he promised to give it a shot at the end. Doug played a very nice set of songs for the large group (50, 60?) of people that had turned out for the impromtu concert. The kids had fun listening and running around. Intermission was forced upon the show when a freight train rolled through on the nearby tracks. Doug almost managed to get away without attempting "Art school Girl", but didn't make it. He did a great job, and we are so glad that he agreed to play in Atlanta on his way to Charlotte.

The play list is at the bottom. Click on photos for a larger version.
