I believe that Dr. William Sears, a pediatrician, has coined this phrase. Attachment parenting is a style of parenting that emphasizes working towards making children secure in their worlds early in life so that they are secure in themselves throughout their lives. According to The Baby Book written by Dr. Sears and his wife, Martha, the basic ingredients of attachment parenting (often shortened to AP) are: These web pages have been divided along those lines, with an addtion section called Natural parenting. While natural parenting is not one of the tenets of AP, the two seem to fit together quite, well, naturally!

There is also a section called Beyond babyhood which will include such topics as homeschooling and discipline.

I have also started an group for people interested in discussing attachment parenting in Atlanta. Click here to see how to join.

General Attachment Parenting Links and Books.

This is by no means intended to be a complete listing. I have only included a few links here, because, personally, I dislike long lists of links. This page is mainly intended to focus on AP in Atlanta, not to be a general resource for AP (since there is already much information already available on that!).
